Family Westport to Newport route
Safe for all
Westport to Newport route is a safe off road route and suitable for small children. The route is out to Newport (approximately 1 hour 12km cycle one way). When you reach Newport, you have an amazing playground (take a look at our pictures), a picnic area beside the river and many gastro pubs and restaurants beside you! This is all very doable in a 3.5 hours round trip with Paddy & Nelly bike rental. Closer by is the Westport Harbour area with all its cafés and bars. There is also a play area for kids.

Westport House
Westport House grounds are nearby (over 400 acres), with many activities such as train rides, boat rides, slides and a well known pizza restaurant and bar. Safety is a particular priority with kids involved. Elke will advise the most suitable combination of bikes, seats and trailers for those of you with kids! Our trailers with large storage at the back is a big plus when you have lots of kids stuff. The large wheels on our trailers make towing less strain and drag.
