Try Westport to Newport
Magic route to get super photos to remember. There is a great gastro pub with excellent food and wine on the river in Newport. On your return cycle visit Buckfield Pub, which is only 30 minutes from Westport. This is a special old world pub from the past that is located in the middle of nowhere. You’ll enjoy a friendly welcome from Paul and Carmel. They serve a great pint! There is a wood fire, large room with pool and darts as well as an outdoor tables looking over county side.
Grainne O’Malley’s castle is only 5 minutes away, with Rosmoney Riding stables nearby too. You’ll finish in McCarthy’s Bar next door to Paddy & Nelly. McCarthy’s Bar has a private room with bar and beer garden and is located opposite to Danollas – the best chipper in Westport (opposite pub).
