The award-winning Great Western Greenway is the NUMBER 1 outdoor activity in Westport. The route takes you on a safe off-road cycle track 43 km (27 miles) from Westport to Achill Island. Situated along the Wild Atlantic Way, you will travel through Newport & Mullranny. You will cross the beautiful and striking Irish bog lands along the Achill coast. At the end of your cycle, park and lock bikes at the Achill Island Hotel. Looking for an easy return to Westport? Find the Achill to Westport bus located 500m across the bridge. Take the bus back to Westport at 3pm or 5pm (4pm only on Sundays). This journey takes 50 minutes and is not provided as part of this experience.
